Beauty and health are correlated one another. Healthy teeth and gums will also give you a beautiful smile. Periodical primary dental care is needed to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Just like all other human body parts, such as skin, hair, and nails, teeth and gums need health care too periodically.
Primary dental care can consist of these following activities:
- Daily Brushing
You can do it by yourself at home daily. Teeth and gums are needed to be brushed twice a day at least. If it is possible, brush your teeth and gums 30 minutes to 1 hour after every meal. Brushing your teeth and gums can help to remove plaque, bacteria on the teeth and gums. When the bacteria are in contact with the food you consume, it can produce acids. These acids will cause cavities.
- Daily Flossing
You need to floss your teeth once a day. Flossing can get rid of plaque and food between teeth. Teeth brushing are not enough. The Plague which stays on your teeth for a long time can become into tartar. Tartar is challenging to remove and needs to be removed by the dentist.
Rinse your teeth and gums daily with antiseptic ( or antibacterial ) mouthwash to kill bacteria which cause gum diseases, plaque, and bad breath. The fluoride contained in the toothpaste can help to prevent teeth decay. Some toothpaste can have both fluoride and antibacterial ingredients. You can rinse your teeth and gums before or after brushing and flossing. Swish the mouthwash liquid in your mouth between 30 to 60 seconds.
